A Mothers Wish

You may not visit
You may not call
But in my heart
You are there as the days are long

You packed your bags and walked out that door
With out a word to any of us at all
You may not see the pain in our eyes
For we are ones who let out the silent cries

I never know what I may hear
Or is it just the fear of you not being here
I watch and worry for your safety everyday
For you are the child that walked away

My heart grows heavy when I hear them speak
Of someone that has just been beat
Or when someone says there's been a wreck in the midnight streets

You left to go to your Dad's
And now you're gone to somewhere else
The road you travel leads you down dead-ends
And now you are losing all your friends

I saw this path in only one other
And now just look at my dear mother
She tried her best to stop her daughter
But ended up having to put her under

I hope the path will lead you back
To the things you wanted as in the past
But should things take you further away
Never forget that I am your mother and I love you

The woman who brought you into this world
And will be there for you in God's other world
My hand is out for you to take hold
And my arms are here forever to fold
For you are my baby
And this I will never deny
For I just want one more chance to say good-bye
